A summer life

Book Read: The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

I recently read the adventures of tom sawyer and it was written in brillant language and the plot was well developed. Now let me explain the story to you.

Application:

This book gave me a lot of new ideas about myself and it is much evident in the book, as it shows a lot of Tom Sawyer's escapes and tricks, his adventures that were very interesting and fresh. It provided me with many new paths and ideas such as how to persuade others and stuff that were very new to me and i found pleasure in reading the book. Tom Sawyer was apparently the main character in the story and he showed dignity and pride and others were very attracted to him, naturally. I learned a lot from Tom Sawyer and that provided me with many things that i follow his style.

Analysis:
I would be comparing Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer in this story. They are two friends with very different personalities, each bringing their own unique characteristics into this friendship. Tom and Huck are two adventurous people but in very different ways. Huckleberry's idea of adventure is to escape from society, their beliefs and all of their ideas. Tom, on the other hand, is more likely to make up an adventure based on something he had read in a book and not really trying to escape anything. All of his ideas and schemes come from books, unlike Huck, who has actually lived the fantasies Tom has imagined. The two are alike in one way though. They both have a very strong sense of adventure. I think this one trait along with their similar ages is what makes them friends. Huck seems to be the kind of person that Tom would want to be friends with because of his willingness to make other people happy. Tom lives out his escapades with no regard for the pain and suffering it causes others. Huck, on the other hand, just wants things done and done right.

Synthesis :
I think that the climax of the story is pretty obvious. That would be The time when Huck overhears Injun Joe's plan to kill Widow Douglas, and Tom encounters Injun Joe when he and Becky are stranded in the cave.
Then Tom protects Becky from the fugitive. At that point a chill went down my spine as it was really exciting and i was totally into the book. The scary incident in the cave was chilling and at the same time, an interesting case. I quite like the action.

Evaluation:
I think the author wrote this book mainly for the entertainment of kids and teenagers as the language is suitable. The plot and action are all supposed to be a children book but it could also be for adults as the book sometimes pleasantly remind adults of what they once were themselves and of how they felt and thought and talked, and what queer enterprises they sometimes engaged in. I still believed that his main target audience is children as this kind of summer books are mostly interesting to children, just like how i was hooked on it.

I would like to recommend this classic to you as it portrays a realistic summer of a boy and is very interesting.
